Module 8

I chose the following videos Beyond the Classical: Byzantine and Later Greek Art, and The Greek Awakening; Art from the 5 th Century; because I was impressed with the Bysantine archictecture in chapter 15 Hagia Spohia. For the film The Greek Awakening is very interesting because I am actually learning about the Parthenon and Pericles in one of my other classes, plus Greek sculptures are amazing.
2.I did not realize the Greece was so very religious and this also played a major rold in the European and Byzantine style coming together. Greek orthodox had a  profound effect on art and culture.Egyptian art didn't change because it didn't want to. Modern cities have similar classical styles. I also did not realize people still go to the Oracle home of God Apollo to culsult for their futures.
3Key concepts,.In the video more Human that Human that all around the world people copy Venic Von Willendory, I think that that the artist was imitating a pregnant women, the only thing that is weird is no arms, face nor legs. Greeks have passed on the architect all over the world.  They have added great detail to the formation and rigidness of such sculptures.
The readings relate more towards the Greek structures and formation of Europe and how the cultures with art and the remarkable buildings and how they are built.
4. The films are informational especially because  I am already learning about the Greeks and their classical age and can relate to this better.
