1. I chose Expressionism and The Impact of Cubism because I think the expressionism took someone that was also brave, the artists were not afraid to let people view their art whether it was offensive to them or not, it also is a way to show our freedom. Cubism is very interesting bringing the ecentric way of color and expression into that represents their culture and blending it with all around.
2. Some key concepts I learned were how dark artists expression can get and if some of them might of had some mental instabilities that would provoke these dark, sometimes gruesome paintings. Picasso was a main important artist that brought out Cubism, and Goya was considered the father of modern art. It was said that this art seemed to have a loss of mystical or religious feeling. I find that surprising because I have always thought of the Spanish culture very religious. Another key concept I thought was very interesting was that Picasso recorded the war, and this brought many of those images to life from actual viewing of some bad sights. The Frank Gehrys building was actual designed by Picasso.
3. Readings were pretty much on the ball with all the information given and history from the different era of art movements. Although it is alot of reading the more depth the better understanding. The videos always to me give me a better understanding of the movements that interest me more, probably because they are visual.
